Hi, my name is James Winkler. I coach FRC, FTC, and FLL Challenge at Clare Public Schools in Michigan. I feel like I started a bunch of robotics teams very rapidly and was lucky enough to have a group of high school students help me with all the lower levels. They all graduated last year and I worry that there is a lot I still don't understand.

Hi! I'm Teddy Rose.

I teach technology and computer science on at Island School on Kaua'i, HI. I am trying to start a robotics program for our middle and high school students but I am new to robotics personally.

Hi Everyone. I'm Tony Pracsovics from Holy Trinity CSS, a high school in Courtice, Ontario, Canada - a small town an hour east of Toronto. I've played around with robotics for years, primarily Lego, while trying to get the students interested as well. Some do, but I often get asked "When can we build REAL robots?" - I guess Lego just doesn't have the same interest quotient in high school as it does in grade school, even though the challenges are very rich and often quite hard! But, if it doesn't have a metallic frame, then it isn't a robot! This is my initial foray with FIRST, and I hope this will meet my students robotics expectations. Looking forward to it!

Hello! My name is Justin Sanders, and I'm a high school Engineering teacher in Birmingham, AL. We competed in our first FRC this past weekend in the Rocket City Regional in Huntsville, AL. I am new to FIRST, and I am looking for training resources for my team. I have found quite a few resources online from organizations as well as other teams. One resource that I will share is the mindmeister.com website. It is a mind mapping tool that is useful for brainstorming and strategizing.

I agree with you! This is what makes FRC that much more impactful. Students respect the game because it does use more advanced materials.

Hi everyone. My name is Craig Roberts and I live in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, just west of Toronto. We finally received our FTC Classroom Pack a couple of weeks ago. I have been using LEGO NXT robots for quite some time and we started using VEX robots back in 2017. It has been a lot of fun seeing the evolution of robotics that are available for schools. I attended a 2-day workshop hosted by FIRST and it is going to be interesting to see how my students handle the FTC kits. We are all looking forward to the challenge.
